Opportunity for Florida educators and students to creatively engage in global sustainability issues.
*New this year: Video Project Organizer provides scaffolding for students

The World of 7 Billion video contest is back for the 2021-2022 school year. This year's contest topic asks students to: Explain how population growth impacts one of the following global challenges and offer an idea for a sustainable solution. The global challenges are: agriculture & food, urbanization, or ocean health.

The contest is currently open and the deadline for video submissions is February 22, 2022.  Participating teachers receive free curriculum resources from Population Education, and over 80 cash prizes of up to $1,200 will be awarded to student winners.

Many EE educators successfully assign the contest as a fun and meaningful small-group project. Use the provided lesson plan and give students the scaffolded Video Project Organizer to optimize student learning. Videos are being accepted now through February 22, 2022.
