LEEF 2020 Conference update

The League of Environmental Educators in Florida (LEEF), started in 1981 and officially chartered in 1983, is the professional organization for environmental education in Florida- advancing environmental literacy and promoting stewardship. We are an independent volunteer run non-profit, and the state affiliate to the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), an organization that brings together those interested in the study and enjoyment of our natural world and one that has promoted excellence in environmental education throughout North America and the world for over four decades.

Each year, LEEF hosts an annual conference for our membership for both formal and informal educators. The LEEF 2020 Conference will be held at the Florida Elks Youth Camp in Umatilla, FL March 27-29! The theme Shaping a new generation of decision makers will provide an amazing opportunity for educators and participants learn about best teaching practices, hands-on activities, demonstrations, field studies, and or current environmental science research!

We are asking for your help in creating the best conference yet by donating goods and or services to our annual LEEF conference. There will be both a silent and a live auction – so any non-used items, attraction tickets, programs, destinations, gift certificates, hand-made jewelry and art, wine baskets, toys, educational items, clothes, books, merchandise, etc. that you can donate will help make this conference a success. No item is too big or too small! Proceeds from the auctions go back to members like you – in the form of scholarships, grants, etc. In so doing as a business, you will have an opportunity to advertise your business with the item(s). We all know how great it is to receive, but we also know how great it is to give! Our organization’s ability to continue to serve is due in large part to the generous support of individual donors who believe in our mission, as well as gifts from businesses and corporations.

You can mail donations to the address below or bring them with to the conference. If you are in Broward county, or close by in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, I (or a Board Member) may even be able to swing by and pick them up. Whichever way you are generous enough to donate, please fill out this online Google form so that we can keep track, organize and give credit for the donations. Your donation may be tax deductible.
