Position Title: Everglades Literacy Program Coordinator

Department: Education

Reports to: Education Manager

Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience

Position Summary

The Orlando-area Everglades Literacy Program Coordinator directly supports the mission of the Everglades Foundation by assisting the Education Manager with coordinating and carrying out the Everglades Literacy Program, which fosters Everglades literacy among elementary and secondary students throughout Florida. The Coordinator assists with the development and maintenance of grade-appropriate, multi-disciplinary curricula that are aligned to State of Florida educational standards and adopted by public schools, private schools, charter schools, parochial schools, and home-schools. The Everglades Literacy Program Coordinator will manage training of teachers to bring the curriculum into classrooms. The Coordinator also promotes Everglades literacy by building relationships and partnerships with universities, non-profits, and other organizations that advance environmental education. A sampling of duties include:

Curriculum Development

- Assist with the development and execution of the Everglades Curriculum and Teacher Training in Orange, Osceola, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties

Teacher Training

- Facilitate teacher training agenda and process

Partner and Community Engagement

- Establish partnerships with school districts and maintain communications to schedule teacher trainings
