Dear EE Advocates,

With about a week to go before the April 17th deadline for Senators to sign the appropriations support letter for the NEEA/EPA Office of Environmental Education, there are 18 signed--well on the way to surpass the record 22 we had last year. We could easily get another 10 this week.

Here's the list of Senators and their records on EE: http://bit.ly/2NVEV8z

The ones highlighted in green are the most likely supporters. There are lots of Senators who have signed this exact letter in the past, plus more who have supported our field in other ways. Note that some of them are on the interior appropriations subcommittee and won't actually sign the letter, but asking them for support is extra important because they have an internal preference list that they can place this program on. All of the instructions are at: https://naaee.org/advocacy/current-issues

Besides the easy task of asking for renewed support from those who have stepped up in the past, we have two top priorities now:

All 3 of the freshmen Senators highlighted in green (but they'll have to be asked).Any of the handful of Republicans highlighted on the list.

Here are lists of EPA and NOAA grants to some states: http://bit.ly/2In4Y7S

Don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions or need any help. Thanks again for the superb job you all have done so far this season to help secure the future of environmental education!
