From Broward County Parks:
Please consider this wonderful opportunity…
Registration for the Florida Master Naturalist Environmental Interpretation class is open, learn more and register here: https://conference.ifas.ufl.edu/fmnp/I19-08.html
A perfect course to take if you are a beginning FMNP student because it prepares you for projects that are required in the Core module classes, and if you are a continuing students, this class really helps for learning ways to get information out there in a fun and impactful way.
The course will include lots of hands-on activities, visits to nature centers and our restoration area at a local high school and a BioBlitz!
This is a short course, only 24 contact hours and complete in 1 week.
The environmental interpretation course is only 24 contact hours [yes, only two evenings, a Saturday and a Sunday!], and the field exercises and principles taught are really unlike any other you might have had in the past. The curriculum has been tailored to our area, and with the Hoss-Berman team you are sure to learn cutting-edge methods in experiential environmental interpretation that take the National Association for Interpretation Standards to an entirely new level.
Kristen and Jody combine several decades of experience, connections to Broward County magnet schools, Youth Environmental Alliance activities and so much more. I highly recommend this course for anyone as it is full of new materials, innovative approaches and high scientific rigor. If you cannot make the course this time, please forward the opportunity to other environmental educator friends. This course is a FANTASTIC opportunity for teachers as well. The course may be offered in other counties, but none come close to the caliber, rigor, comradery and just plain FUN you will have with this one.
