Call for Proposals- #LEEF2020


From our Conference Committee:


The League of Environmental Educators in Florida Statewide Conference March 27-29, 2020 at the Florida Elks Youth Camp at Umatilla, FL, our website is now posted at: https://www.leefconference.com/


We have now posted both the Call for Proposals for the Overall Conference and Abstracts for the Research Symposium at:  https://www.leefconference.com/call-for-proposals-abstracts


1. For the Conference (Saturday and Sunday), you may propose:

a. Panel comprised of 4-6 people, who will discuss various topics, usually individual elements of one theme, with appropriate audience interaction and some sort of final product.

b. A standard PowerPoint presentation, with appropriate handouts, or electronic ones available online.

c. An interactive, experiential workshop, often outside the building, to highlight pedagogic techniques, new approaches, or other novel information.

d. A presentation to orient participants on new, revised or specialized curricula.

e. A workshop on such subjects as increasing target audience diversity, equity and/or inclusion.

f. A workshop or presentation on newly applied techniques in e-learning, distance learning, virtual tours, or experiential social media.

g. Other novel ideas you might have for the Committee.

2. For the Research Symposium (Friday), you may propose:

a. Delivery Method:

i. A poster session

ii. Traditional PowerPoint (hopefully interactive) presentations

iii. Lightning talks

iv. Organized panel discussions

b. Themes

i. Early Childhood- Play Based Learning for Urban, Suburban and Rural Youth

ii. Environmental, Community and Personal Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change

iii. e-Environmental Education

iv. Outdoor Experiential Environmental Education

v. Innovations in Environmental Education for Special Populations


If you have questions about the Research Symposium, please communicate with John Pipoly at jpipoly@broward.org. Those of you who have already expressed interest, please submit at least a tentative title so we can begin planning the talks, breaks, etc. The Research Symposium will take place on Friday, March 27th.

Please submit your proposal to the overall conference or the Research Symposium via our LEEF Conference Web page at: https://www.leefconference.com/call-for-proposals-abstracts. Presentations for the overall conference will take place on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th.
