Sunday February 17, 11-1pm “The Viewing” at Haulover Beach. 10800 Collins Avenue Very exciting day! The pearl will be on display for friends and family to view, take pictures with, as well as take rubbings from the bronze plaque. There will be readings from family members as well as my BSO Fire Rescue department are sending 2 members of our Black Pearl Band to perform Amazing Grace and other traditional songs on the bagpipes. My dad loved The Black Pearl Band so this will be a moving tribute to dedicate to him! Some family members will also be speaking in eulogy. Please let me know if you would like to speak or have a good story to tell. After the viewing we will head down to Gilberts Resort in Key Largo to swap stories and a few Drinks and some food literally looking at the body of water where so many of these wonderful Bill Haynes stories have come from!

Monday Feb 18 7:30am sharp! “The Dedication” What an awesome day this will be!! Meeting at Sea Leggs Marina- Hollywood, Fl. *****NO LATER THAN 7:45AM**** 5398 N. Ocean Dr. 33019 We will have a wonderful hour ride on a very comfortable fishing boat with AC that holds 42 passengers to Golden Beach Reef off the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami Beach. Along the way to the reef the Metro Dade Fire Department’s fireboat will be saluting him in full honors with their water cannons as we pass by!! I know he would love that so much! After we get to the location, and when its our turn, the transport boat will lower the pearl into its final resting place into the reef to become a living breathing habitat for corals, algae as well as shelter and food for reef fish. I can think of no better way to remember my dad as to make him forever a part of a reef he so loved and dedicated his life to. Please note! To participate in this you will need reservations through me and will be approx. $25-30 pp. A friend of mine is offering his boat, himself as a captain and a first mate. Depending on how many people attending will determine the cost Per Person as we are only paying for fuel for the boat for 4 hours. You will need reservations to be on the boat. Please message me through the event page on the Facebook so I can keep all the correspondence in one place. If Facebook isn’t convenient you can email or text me. However the Facebook Event page is best logistically for me to keep things in one place. Please understand we cannot wait for anyone as the transport vessel for the pearl will already be at the location, they have other dedications that day and cannot hold up other families. Before 7:45 am is a must!

The only day that requires reservations is Monday on the boat however it would be helpful if you could message or post in the event page any days you are attending so I can have reservations set up to accommodate a large party. In Lieu of Flowers please donate to the Bill Haynes Memorial Eco Reef Fund at https://www.gofundme.com/eco-reef-memorial-for-bill-haynes?sharetype=teams&member=1309016&rcid=r01-154636302511-cdabec9d66db41f3&pc=ot_co_campmgmt_w

Sincerely, Laura Kiess hope to see everyone there!
